Belfrey House is in York, right in the middle of the city. It's about twenty seconds from the Minster. You walk out the door and you're there. The house is old, built in 1606, so the floors are uneven in places and the stairs are quite steep. It's part of the street, so you get the proper city noise.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and has everything you need, but it's an old house, so mind your head on some of the beams.
You won't need the car. Everything is on your doorstep. There's a shop about five yards away. Pubs are twenty yards. The Shambles is round the corner. For days out, the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Centre are a short walk. You can walk the city walls from here.
If you do drive out, Castle Howard is about half an hour away. The North York Moors are a bit further, maybe forty-five minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot if you need one. All the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
