Belfrey House is in York, right next to the Minster. It was built in 1606, which makes it very old. It's a listed building, so you get things like the original beams. There are four floors, so there are quite a few stairs. They're fairly steep in places, which is normal for a house this age.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. The beds are made up for you when you arrive.
The location is the main thing. You're on a nice old street in the very middle of York. There are shops about five yards from the door, and pubs about twenty yards away. You can walk to pretty much everything. The Jorvik Centre, the Railway Museum, and the Castle Museum are all a short walk. You can get onto the city walls from nearby.
If you want to drive out, the North York Moors are about half an hour away. The coast, like Whitby or Scarborough, is a bit further, maybe just over an hour depending on traffic.
In the house you've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a TV. There's a cot if you need one. No pets, I'm afraid.
