Cottage On The Green
Cottage On The Green is in Acomb, which is west of York city centre. It's about a mile and a half in, so you can get a bus from the end of the road or it's a decent walk.
It looks out over Acomb Green. It's a terrace house. There's a small enclosed courtyard at the back with a table and chairs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs are worth mentioning: they're steep and a bit narrow. It's just how the house is built.
There's a wood burner in the front room. It's nice in the winter. We include logs for it.
For local things, there's a shop and a pub a few minutes' walk away. The pub does food. The bus stop for York is on the same road.
York itself has all the main things: the Minster, the walls, the Jorvik Centre, the Railway Museum. It's a good base for it all. You can walk in along the river if you fancy it.
Further out, you can get to the coast in under an hour. Whitby and Scarborough are that way. The North York Moors are about 40 minutes' drive. For a stately home, Beningbrough Hall is close or Castle Howard is a bit further.
What's here: the wood burner, the courtyard, TV, WiFi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to two dogs.
