The Landings Cottage Beningbrough

The Landings Cottage is in Beningbrough village, next to our house. It's a converted barn. You've got your own bit of garden out the back with a table.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well looked after. The kitchen has a proper oven and dishwasher. There's a wood burner in the living room. The floors are stone and oak, so they're solid but can be cold underfoot in winter.

The River Ouse is at the bottom of the garden, about 300 yards from the back door. You can fish from the bank there, no licence needed. The bank is steep in places. We can moor one boat if you arrange it with us beforehand.

Beningbrough Hall is a nice walk away along the river. It's a National Trust place with a big house and walled garden. Their farm shop and cafe is good. National Trust Beningbrough Hall.

There's a shop half a mile away. The nearest pub is in Newton-on-Ouse, two miles. York is about seven miles. You can drive in or use the park and ride at Rawcliffe. It’s got the Minster, the Railway Museum, all of it. Visit York.

For days out, Harrogate is about 45 minutes by car. The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are both within half an hour's drive if you head north.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. We can store bikes in our garage if you ask us. One well-behaved dog is allowed. All bedding and towels are included.
