The Landings Cottage Beningbrough

The Landings Cottage is in Beningbrough village. It's attached to our house, but it's completely private. It's a barn conversion, so you get the stone floors and oak beams. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms.

It's got a 5 Star rating, which just means everything is in good order and it's well kept. The garden is enclosed, with a patio area. French doors open onto it from the living room. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.

The River Ouse is at the bottom of the garden, about 300 yards from the back door. The bank there is steep. You can fish from our bit of the bank if you want to, no licence needed. There's space to moor one boat if you arrange it with us beforehand.

Beningbrough Hall is a short walk away along the river. It's National Trust, with a good walled garden and a farm shop cafe. National Trust Beningbrough Hall.

Newton-on-Ouse is two miles away and has two pubs. York is about seven miles. You can drive in or use the park and ride at Rawcliffe. It's got everything: the Minster, the Railway Museum, the lot. Visit York.

Further out, you can get to Harrogate, Fountains Abbey, or the edge of the Dales or North York Moors within half an hour or so for a day trip.

For facilities, it's got the things you'd expect: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We can store bikes in our garage if you ask us. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
