Wheatsheaf Cottage

Wheatsheaf Cottage is in Moor Monkton. It's a bungalow, so everything's on the ground floor. It sleeps two people, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It's next to our house, but it's private, with its own garden and parking.

It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and WiFi. The bed is made up for you.

The location is quiet. You're in a hamlet, so it's peaceful. The nearest shop is about two miles away. There's a pub and a restaurant three miles away.

You're well placed for getting about. York is only eight miles east. You can drive to the Park and Ride at Askham Bar, which is three miles away, and get the bus in. The city has all the history like the Minster and the museums. Harrogate is about sixteen miles west.

For a day out, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales are both within an hour's drive.

Useful links for planning visits: City of York Council for the Park and Ride info, and North York Moors National Park.
