Westfield Stables is our converted stable block on the farm. It's brick built, semi-detached, and looks out over the fields. You can see for miles from the main bedroom. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms have their own shower rooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The conversion kept a lot of the old beams. If you look closely at them upstairs, you can still see some of the original carpenter's marks. The kingsize bed in the main room faces a big window, so you get the view first thing. The en-suite for that room is behind a sort of false wall, which is a quirk of the layout.
Downstairs has underfloor heating. There's a wood burner for when it's cold. The kitchen has a Belfast sink and a quartz worktop. It has what you need. The living area has a big window and a reclining chair. The garden is enclosed and the patio gets the morning sun. There's on-site parking and you can store bikes.
We're on a working farm, so you'll see the animals coming and going. The local pub is about a mile away in Kirk Hammerton village. They do food.
You're between York and Harrogate, each about 12 miles away. York has the Minster, the Railway Museum, and the Viking centre. Harrogate has the Turkish Baths and Bettys. The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park are both within a 30 minute drive for walking. The coast, like Whitby or Scarborough, is about an hour.
Facilities wise: it has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. There's a local golf course.
