Westfield Stables is a converted stable block on our farm near Kirk Hammerton. It's semi-detached, brick, with the original beams. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is handy.
You get the place to yourselves. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We allow two. It's a working farm, so you'll see us going about our jobs, but you've got your own gate and parking.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well kept and has everything you should need. The kitchen's modern, with a dishwasher. There's a washing machine in the utility room. The wood burner works and there's a basket of logs for when you arrive.
The stairs are a normal steepness, but mind your head on the beams upstairs. The main bedroom has a big window looking out over the fields. The second bedroom has beds that can be two singles or a king.
The local pub is about a mile down the road in the village. It serves food. The nearest shop is about the same distance.
You're about halfway between York and Harrogate. Both are easy to get to, within twenty minutes or so by car. York has all the history, the Minster, the Railway Museum. Harrogate has the spa and the gardens. The North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are both within a thirty minute drive for walking. The coast, like Whitby, is about an hour.
If you want to go into York for the day and not worry about parking, we can give you a lift to the railway station in Hammerton. It's a ten minute train ride.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, wifi, parking. The garden has a patio and furniture.
