The Granary is a converted barn in Holtby, North Yorkshire. It's about five miles from the centre of York. It's one of five cottages around a courtyard. I live on site too.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, one with a super king bed and one with twins. There's a shower room down there as well. The main living area is upstairs. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase.
Upstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining, living room. It's got sloping ceilings and velux windows so it's very bright. The kitchen has a Belfast sink and granite worktops. There's a Juliet balcony off the living space. The third bedroom is also up here, with a kingsize bed.
Outside, there's a large enclosed garden that's shared between the cottages. It has a summerhouse, some paths, and a fenced pond. The central courtyard has seating and a koi pond.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, woodburning stove, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's on site parking and bike storage. A cot and highchair are available.
The local shop is two miles away. There's a pub in the village, about a mile. A restaurant is four miles.
York is the main draw, just a short drive. You've got the Minster, the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre. Good for shopping and eating out. Harrogate is about twenty one miles away. The coast at Scarborough is around forty four miles if you fancy a day at the seaside.
