Ye Olde Smithy Kennythorpe

This is the Old Smithy in Kennythorpe. It's a converted stable block on our working farm. You get a clear view out over the Wolds from the garden.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor, so there are no stairs. The doorways are wide.

The place has a three-star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not a show home. You're on a farm, so you'll see tractors and hear the animals.

The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs or kids. You can bring up to three dogs. We can also stable a horse if you're bringing one.

If you're here in the spring and the lambs are bottle-feeding, the kids can help with that. Just ask.

There's a pub in Burythorpe village, about a mile away. They do good food.

You're in a decent spot for seeing things. York is about twenty minutes by car. The coast, like Scarborough or Filey, is under half an hour. The North York Moors are on your doorstep too.

For things to do, the North York Moors National Park site is useful. For history, try English Heritage or the National Trust in Yorkshire.

What's here: a wood burner, WiFi, a washing machine, all your bedding and towels, and parking right outside.
