Ye Olde Smithy is in Kennythorpe, on our working farm. It’s a converted stable block. You get open views across the fields.
It sleeps six across three bedrooms and has one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean.
The key thing is it’s all on the ground floor. The doorways are wide, so it suits anyone who uses a wheelchair or doesn’t want stairs. Outside is a patio garden with a table and chairs, it’s enclosed.
Being a farm, you might hear farm sounds. You’re welcome to watch the work from a distance. We sometimes have lambs in spring, kids can feed them if I’m around and things are quiet.
If you’re bringing a horse, we have stabling available on site. You’d need to arrange that with me directly.
The village, Burythorpe, has a good pub, just over a mile away. Malton’s about four miles for shops and cafes. York is twenty minutes by car.
You’re well placed for the coast, like Filey, or the North York Moors. The Yorkshire Wolds are right here for walks.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, WiFi, and a woodburning stove. Towels and bedding are included. Parking is right outside. We allow up to three dogs.
For planning days out: North York Moors National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
