Delamere House- The Snug

The Snug is an annexe at the side of our house in Scagglethorpe. It's all on the ground floor. You come in through double glass doors from your own garden. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a double, the other has twin beds. There's one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and clean. The living area is open plan, so the kitchen is in the same room. There's a drop-leaf dining table.

The village pub is about 250 yards away. It's a proper local, they do food. There's a play park just past it for kids. The nearest shop is in Malton, about three miles.

If you like history, Eden Camp is five minutes up the road. It's an old prisoner of war camp turned into a museum. Castle Howard is about a fifteen minute drive. They have events and the grounds are good to walk around. Nunnington Hall and Duncombe Park are nearby too.

Malton and Helmsley are the main market towns. They've got good shops and cafes. Thornton-le-Dale is very pretty, it's the one with the little stream you see in pictures.

You're close to the North York Moors. Pickering is under ten miles away. That's where you get the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train to Whitby. York is about half an hour's drive if you want a city day. Filey beach is also about half an hour east.

For facilities: there's a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two dogs are welcome, there's a charge for the first one.
