Rose Cottage is in Rillington, which is quiet. It’s on the very edge of the village. It was an 18th century barn, split into two cottages now. You can see the old beams and stonework.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful. It’s got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished and comfortable. It has underfloor heating, which is good when it’s cold.
The ground floor is open plan, kitchen, dining, and living area all in one big room. There's a wet room downstairs with a walk-in shower and grab rails. The main entrance and the whole ground floor is wheelchair accessible.
You have your own enclosed garden and patio. There’s on-site parking and a place to store bikes.
A shop and a pub are about 300 yards away. The pub serves food.
For a day out, Flamingo Land is nearby. Eden Camp, which is a modern history museum, is just down the road. Scampston Hall and its walled garden are worth visiting.
If you want the coast, Scarborough and Whitby are a drive away. York’s about 30 minutes by car. You can be in the North York Moors in no time.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
Just so you know, there’s an interconnecting door to the cottage next door, Granary Cottage. They can be booked together if you’re a bigger group.
