This is Stephenson Cottage, in Newton on Rawcliffe. It's a semi-detached stone cottage, one of a pair. They were built for railway workers a long time ago, so yes, heritage steam trains do go past sometimes. It doesn't shake the place or anything, but you'll hear and see them. Some people like that.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The ground floor has one bedroom and the main bathroom. Upstairs there's a king-size with its own shower room, and a twin room. The stairs are wooden and a bit steep, as you'd expect.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has what you need. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and furniture. You get the whole garden to yourselves.
It's a good spot for the North York Moors. You can walk straight out onto the moors. The Hole of Horcum is nearby for a big view. Levisham village is about a mile away and has a decent pub that does food.
By car, you can get to the coast in about half an hour. Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough. Dalby Forest is close if you want cycling or walking. Flamingo Land is less than 20 minutes drive.
Inside, there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry.
