Riccal Heads
Riccal Heads is in Spaunton, up on the North York Moors. It's a converted barn, one of two in a quiet courtyard. The view from here is the main thing. It faces south and looks right out over Ryedale, nothing in the way.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. The dining table is big, it seats ten, which is handy if you rent both cottages together.
You're in the National Park, so walking and cycling start at the door. The local pub is three quarters of a mile down the lane in Hutton-le-Hole. The village shop is about five miles away in Kirkbymoorside, so you'll want to arrive with supplies.
Hutton-le-Hole has the Ryedale Folk Museum if you're curious about local history. Helmsley is a nice market town, about eight miles. It's got a castle ruin, Duncombe Park, and proper tea shops. Pickering is where the North York Moors Railway starts. You can get the steam train from there to Goathland and Grosmont, and all the way to Whitby on the coast.
Dalby Forest is good for a drive or mountain biking. For a big day out, York is about an hour's drive.
For facilities: you've got the basics like a washing machine and dishwasher. WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed garden, a BBQ, and parking right there. You can bring up to two dogs.
