Highfield Barn
Highfield Barn is in Pockley, which is on the very edge of the North York Moors. It's a detached barn conversion off a quiet lane. It's just for two people.
You've got one bedroom and one bathroom. The main living space is downstairs, with a wood burning stove and stone floors. The stairs to the bedroom are a spiral staircase. It's fine, but mind your head.
It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. There's parking right outside. All bedding and towels are included, and there's a washing machine. Wifi is there, but it's the countryside so it's not super fast.
The location is quiet. There's an Indian restaurant and a fish and chip shop about a ten minute walk away. For a proper shop, you'd need to drive. The nearest pub is about two miles.
Helmsley is the main town nearby, about four miles away. It's got good food shops, cafes, and Helmsley Castle. For a big day out, York is under an hour's drive.
Being on the edge of the Moors means you can walk straight onto the trails. For the steam railway, you go to Pickering. The coast, like Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay, is about a 40 minute drive.
