Bridge House
Bridge House is in Helmsley, just set back from the market square. It's one of a pair of old cottages, Grade II listed. There's a garden that runs down to the River Rye. You can hear it from the house if the window is open, which is nice.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, plus an extra wet room downstairs. It's got a 5 Star rating, which just means it's a comfortable, well-equipped place.
You can walk to everything. Shops, pubs, restaurants, they're all a few minutes away. The church too. Helmsley Castle is right there, and Duncombe Park is just on the other side of the square. For longer walks, you can be on a path into the moors almost immediately. The North York Moors park is the whole area.
There's an open-air swimming pool nearer the castle if that's your thing. Golf is close by. York is about half an hour's drive. The Yorkshire Dales are maybe an hour, the coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about the same.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine. Parking for one car right by the house. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets, sorry.
