The Cart House
The Cart House is in Helmsley, down a quiet side road. It's detached, so you've got your own space. There's a shared gravel drive leading to gated parking for one car right outside.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One double has an en-suite shower. There's a twin room that can be made into a king bed if you ask us first. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well finished.
The kitchen is big and modern, with an Aga. There's also a gas stove and oven next to it, as a back-up. The underfloor heating is good. Doors lead out to a private courtyard and the garden. There's a separate utility room with a washing machine and a toilet.
The main living room is open plan, with glass doors looking onto the garden. There are comfy sofas, a TV, and a wood burning stove. It's a light room.
Outside, there's a separate games room with a football table. The garden is enclosed.
Helmsley itself is a good spot. It's right where the Howardian Hills meet the North York Moors National Park. There are plenty of walks from the door, like the Cleveland Way. The town has shops, cafes, and pubs. There's a castle, a walled garden, and the Duncombe Park estate is a short walk away. The open air swimming pool is popular in summer.
You're about 30 minutes from the coast at Scarborough or Whitby. York is around 45 minutes by car.
In terms of what's there, you've got the wood burner, a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and the EV charger. We include bedding and towels. It's family friendly, with a cot, highchair, and stairgate available. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
