The Nest
The Nest is a one bedroom flat in Helmsley. It's right in the middle of town, so you can walk to everything.
It's over two floors. You come in at ground level to the kitchen, then go up a flight of stairs to the bedroom, shower room, and living area. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
Outside, there's a small patio area with a couple of chairs. It's not a big garden, but it's a spot to sit.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. You get a washing machine, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
Being in Helmsley, you're a minute's walk from the shops, pubs, and the brewery. For walking, you're on the edge of the North York Moors. Rievaulx Abbey is a short drive away and is worth a visit. The North York Moors National Park site has good information on trails.
Within about half an hour you can get to places like Pickering or Thirsk. York is about 24 miles away if you want a city day. The coast, like Whitby or Scarborough, is closer to 50 minutes by car.
