Mill Cottage is in Rievaulx, which is right in the North York Moors National Park. It's a detached cottage, built in the 1700s. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps five people in three rooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It has low beams in some rooms, so you have to mind your head. There's an open fire you can use.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out at the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. The garden faces south, so you can sit out there and look at it. The Abbey itself is run by English Heritage, you can walk there. They have a tearoom.
For a shop or a pub, you need to drive about two and a half miles to Helmsley. It's a small market town, it's got what you need. Pickering is about a twenty minute drive. That's where the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains are.
You can drive to York in about forty minutes. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is about a forty minute drive too, depending on traffic.
Facilities wise: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
