Mill House is in Hawnby, a small village in the North York Moors. It's a detached, listed house from the 1780s. It's been renovated but still feels old. The garden has a lawn, a patio, and the River Rye runs right along the bottom of it. The garden is enclosed by walls and hedges, but it's not dog-proof fenced, so you'd need to keep an eye on them.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. Two bedrooms are on the first floor, two more are up another flight of stairs. The stairs are typical old house stairs, a bit steeper and narrower than modern ones.
Downstairs there's a kitchen, a living room with an open fire, and a games room. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's very well finished and comfortable. It has a wood-fired hot tub in the garden.
The village is quiet. The nearest shop and pub are about a mile away in the next hamlet. For a bigger choice, Helmsley is eight miles away. It's a proper market town with good shops, cafes, and a castle. The North York Moors are right on the doorstep for walking. The coast, like Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay, is about a 45 minute drive. York is under an hour away.
For facilities: it has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
