Mill House is in Hawnby, which is in the North York Moors. It's a detached, listed house from the 1780s. The garden runs down to the River Rye. There's a patio and a hot tub. The garden is enclosed for dogs but it's not fenced all the way round, it's hedged and walled in parts, so you need to keep an eye on them.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well finished and everything's included. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow in places, because it's old. There are two flights up to the top floor.
Downstairs there's a kitchen, a living room with an open fire, and a games room. Everything's there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
Hawnby itself is small. There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. For more choice, Helmsley is eight miles east. It's a proper market town with shops, cafes, and a few restaurants. It's a good base for walking. The Cleveland Way and the Ebor Way go through there. You can visit Helmsley Castle or the walled garden.
You're right in the North York Moors National Park. For days out, the coast at Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay is about a 40 minute drive. York is roughly an hour south.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
