The Dreamer's Hut is on our land near Hawnby, in the North York Moors. It's a proper shepherd's hut, all on its own. It sleeps two in one room.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's done up well. Everything's new. There's a kingsize bed, a small kitchen that works, and a bathroom. You can have a shower or use the bath, which is outside under a cover. You light a fire underneath it to heat the water. It's a bit different. You get a good view of the stars from there.
Inside, there's a wood burner for heat. We leave you some local bits to eat when you arrive. Outside, it's in the old orchard. There's a deck with chairs that looks out over the valley.
Hawnby village is a walk up the hill, about ten minutes. The pub is there. It's a proper old stone village. The shop is a bit further, about a mile. It's all walking country. Right from the hut you can get onto footpaths. The Cleveland Way and the Inn Way long-distance paths are close by.
Helmsley is the main town, about six miles away. That's where you'll find supermarkets, more shops and places to eat. It's a nice market town with a castle and some abbey ruins. North York Moors National Park has all the information on walking and dark skies.
For facilities, it's got the wood burner, a BBQ, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right by the hut.
The story with the name is that some shepherds from Hawnby fell asleep in the fields here a few hundred years ago, had the same dream, and it changed things for them. The hut looks over that same valley.
