Hurworth is in Cowesby. It's a small hamlet, just a few houses, very quiet. The cottage looks out over fields towards the North Yorkshire Moors.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently, so everything feels clean and new. The main living space is all one open plan room.
There's a patio garden with a BBQ. The parking is right next to the cottage. It's all on the ground floor and the doorways are wide, so it's suitable for wheelchair access.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. You can walk straight out from the door. For a pub, the nearest is about two miles away in a village called Kepwick. The nearest shop is in Thirsk, which is six miles.
Thirsk is a nice market town. The market's on a Monday and Saturday. The World of James Herriot museum is there if you're interested. The racecourse is on the edge of town.
You can get to the Moors easily. Go east to Pickering for the steam railway, or to Helmsley. The Yorkshire Dales are to the west, maybe a forty minute drive. York is about an hour south. The coast, like Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay, is just over an hour's drive.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. There's bicycle storage. No pets, I'm afraid.
