Middle Cottage
This is Middle Cottage. It's in Thirsk, right off the market square. It's a mid-terrace house in a quiet little courtyard. You can see the market cross from the gate.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently, so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs are a bit steep.
There's a garden out the back, it's enclosed. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
You can walk to pretty much everything here. There's a shop, a restaurant, and a few pubs about a hundred yards away. The market is on Mondays and Saturdays. The World of James Herriot is just round the corner if you're interested, but the area's full of other characterful shops and cafes.
The main thing is it's a good base. You're about 20 minutes from the North York Moors. Places like Helmsley or Sutton Bank. The Yorkshire Dales are about half an hour west, maybe a bit more depending on traffic.
Scarborough or Whitby are just over half an hour's drive. You can go to the coast for the day easily. York is about 40 minutes south.
What's here: there's off-road parking for one car, which you really need in the square. There's WiFi, a washing machine, a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and a highchair in for you if you need them. No pets, sorry.
