White Lodge Cottage Carlton Miniott

White Lodge Cottage is in Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk. It’s a converted coach house, so it feels a bit different from an ordinary house. It sleeps eight, four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It’s a 5 Star place, which means it's very comfortable and well set up.

You've got two living spaces. The main one is open plan, with exposed brick from the old coach arches. There are glass doors out to the front garden. There's a wood burner in there, and another in the separate living room. The kitchen in the open plan area has everything you’d need.

The stairs are a bit steep in parts, as you’d expect from an old building. All the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.

There’s a pub serving food about 200 yards away. The nearest shop is a couple of miles away in Thirsk. Thirsk itself is a proper market town, with a square, shops and places to eat. It's where James Herriot practised. The World of James Herriot museum is there if that's of interest. There’s a racecourse too.

For getting outside, you’re well placed. The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors are both easy to reach for a day out. The famous White Horse at Kilburn and Sutton Bank are about four miles away. The views from Sutton Bank are very good. You can walk from there along the Cleveland Way.

York is about half an hour's drive away. Harrogate is about forty-five minutes. The coast is roughly an hour.

The garden is yours to use. There's parking on site. Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and both bedding and towels are provided. Highchair available. We don't allow pets.
