The Old Post Office Rainton

The Old Post Office is here in Rainton, right on the village green. It's an old post office we've done up. It sleeps six, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an ensuite off the main bedroom up in the attic.

It's over three floors. The stairs are a typical old cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and winding. The top bedroom has sloping ceilings and Velux windows.

You've got a kitchen and dining area that's open plan, which is good for everyone being together. French doors open out to a small, enclosed courtyard at the back. It gets the sun in the evening. There's a table and chairs out there.

The village pub is literally next door, a few steps away. They do food. Thirsk is about ten minutes away by car. It's a proper market town with a square, shops, and a racecourse. The World of James Herriott is there if you're interested, he was the local vet who wrote the books.

For walking, you're well placed. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about half an hour to the west. The North York Moors are about the same to the east. Sutton Bank has those famous views. If you fancy the coast, Whitby and Scarborough are just over an hour's drive.

The place has a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair if you need one. Sorry, no pets.
