Railway Cottage is in Carlton Miniott, which is basically Thirsk. It's a semi-detached stone cottage that sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You can walk into Thirsk town centre in about ten minutes. The train station is very close, which is handy, but it does mean you'll see and hear trains. They're not constant, but they are there.
The living room has a wood burner, which works well. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher and washing machine. The stairs are standard cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper than in a new house.
Outside, there's a small patio area at the front and a lawned bit at the back. There's parking for one car on the drive.
You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
Thirsk has a good market square with shops and pubs. The racecourse is within walking distance. For walking, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are both about a 30 minute drive. York and Harrogate are under an hour by car or train.
