Old Reading Room
The Old Reading Room is in Thimbleby. It's a detached house, so no one next door. It used to be the village reading room a hundred years ago. We've kept the original beams and stonework. The floors are stone and oak.
It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one is on the ground floor. The stairs are open and spiral. They're quite steep.
It's got underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. There's a dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair and a travel cot if you need them. The garden is enclosed. Parking is on site. No pets, I'm afraid.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The walking and mountain biking from the door is very good. Cod Beck Reservoir is nearby. The nearest shop and pub are in Osmotherley, about a mile away.
You can drive to Helmsley in about twenty minutes. York is maybe forty-five minutes. Fountains Abbey and Castle Howard are both within half an hour.
