The Wheel House

The Wheel House is in Heathwaite, up on the North York Moors. It's a converted stone building. You get a lot of quiet here.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The main living area is in the old wheelhouse, which is why the ceiling is high and the room feels very spacious. There's exposed stonework.

The garden is a good size. You can sit out there and all you'll hear is birds. The views are over fields and moorland.

You're properly in the North York Moors National Park, so you can start walking from the door. For a pint or supplies, Swainby village is about two miles away. It has a shop and two pubs.

Thirsk is about a fifteen minute drive. It's a proper market town. You've got the James Herriot museum there if that's your thing. The coast, places like Whitby and Saltburn, is roughly half an hour by car.

For facilities, you've got the main things: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
