The Nab

The Nab is on a working farm near Carlton, just outside Helmsley. It's a glamping lodge, so it's more comfortable than a tent but it's still a wooden cabin. You get your own enclosed garden with a picnic bench and a firepit that doubles as a barbecue. The view across the fields to the North York Moors is the main thing. It's very good.

It sleeps two adults, and there's space for up to two children as well. There are two sleeping areas. One is a private bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed. The other is a king-size bed on a mezzanine floor. That's up a steep, paddle staircase. The headroom up there is low, so it's really only suitable for children or very agile adults. The bathroom is small, with a shower cubicle.

Downstairs is all one space: kitchen, living area, and a sofa with a Smart TV. It's got everything you need. WiFi, towels, bedding, parking right outside. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean.

You're welcome to bring one dog. They'll need to be kept on a lead around the farm, for obvious reasons.

Helmsley is about six miles away for shops, pubs, and the brewery. You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Walking and cycling trails start from your door. Rievaulx Abbey is a popular walk. For a day out, Malton, Pickering and Thirsk are within half an hour. York is about an hour's drive. The coast at Whitby or Scarborough is roughly forty minutes if you fancy fish and chips.
