Scarborough Esplanade is a big Victorian house on the seafront. It’s part of a terrace, so you've got neighbours. It sleeps twelve, which is rare around here. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. We've kept a lot of the old features, like the fireplaces.
You're right on the South Bay. Walk out the front door and the sea is at the bottom of the road. To get down to the sand you can either walk through the Italian Gardens or take the cliff lift. It's about a hundred yards to the gardens.
There are two proper sitting rooms, so a big group can spread out. One has a wood burning stove. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can park one car on the driveway. We can take one well-behaved dog.
The place is full of pubs, restaurants, and arcades. You don’t really need to drive if you don't want to. There's a local shop just up the road. The Stephen Joseph Theatre is nearby, and The Spa for big concerts.
For kids, the beach is the main thing. There's also Peasholm Park with the boating lake, a waterpark, and the Sea Life Centre. The castle is up on the headland between the two bays. The walk along Marine Drive is good.
If you do drive, it's about twenty minutes to Filey. Whitby and Bridlington are about forty minutes each. York is just over an hour away.
