Scarborough Cottage

This is Scarborough Cottage. It's in Scalby, which is a village about two miles from Scarborough itself. The cottage is part of a small estate owned by the Duchy of Lancaster. You get your own place, but there are other cottages nearby.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. One is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished and everything is included, like bedding and towels. The living space is open plan.

Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. You can park on site. There's also an electric vehicle charger.

The location is the main thing. It's on the clifftop, right by the Cleveland Way footpath. You can walk straight onto the coastal path from here. The sea views are good. It's about a half hour walk along the coast into Scarborough, or a few minutes in the car.

In Scarborough, you've got the castle, two beaches, and the open air theatre. The theatre has big shows sometimes. There's a shop and a pub in Scalby village, a few minutes walk away.

Within a 30 minute drive, you can get to Whitby. That's where the Dracula connection is, and you can get the North York Moors Railway steam train from there. The North York Moors National Park starts not far from here. For bird watching, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is about a 25 minute drive up the coast.

You can bring one dog. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a wood burning stove. They've got a cot and highchair if you need them.
