Scarborough Cottage
This is one of the cottages on the Scalby Lodge estate near Scarborough. The estate is owned by the Duchy of Lancaster. It's a group of fifteen places up on the cliff.
Scarborough Cottage sleeps eight people. It's got four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor, which might be useful. It's got a 5 Star rating, which generally means the fittings are good quality and it's well kept.
You're up on the cliffs, so you get the sea view. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right there, and an electric vehicle charger.
The cottage is in Scalby, which is a village just outside Scarborough itself. It's a couple of miles to the town centre. The coast path, the Cleveland Way, runs right past here. For a local walk, you can follow it down into Scarborough or north towards Hayburn Wyke.
In Scarborough, you've got the two bays, North and South Beach. The castle is up on the headland. There's the Open Air Theatre on the South Bay, and plenty of places to eat.
If you drive up the coast for about half an hour, you get to Whitby. That's worth a trip. The North York Moors Railway runs from there. A bit further inland, you're into the North York Moors National Park straight away for walking.
Facilities in the cottage include a washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. You can bring one dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
