The Barn
The Barn is one of fifteen cottages at Scalby Lodge, near Scarborough. It's on the clifftop. It belongs to the Duchy of Lancaster.
It sleeps ten people in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after. It's a bungalow, so everything is on one level, which is useful. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right there.
Inside, it's open-plan. There's a wood burning stove, a TV, and WiFi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
Outside, there's a patio area with a barbecue. There's a shared kids' play area on site too. Sorry, no pets.
The local pub is a short walk away. Scarborough town centre is about ten minutes by car. It's got the castle, two beaches, shops, and the Open Air Theatre. The North York Moors National Park starts not far from here.
For walking, the Cleveland Way path runs right past. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is about a twenty minute drive. Whitby is half an hour north. You can get the steam train from there into the moors. York is just over an hour away.
