Meadowsweet Cottage

Meadowsweet Cottage is one of a few cottages here in Scalby. It's a proper village, about three miles from Scarborough. You get your own bit of garden out the back, which is good for dogs, and you can see the sea and Scarborough Castle from the front.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms. They all have their own bathroom, which is handy. It's a four-star, so it's got everything you need.

The stairs are typical cottage stairs. Steep and a bit twisty. The floors are uneven in places as well. Just how it is.

You can walk into Scalby village in about fifteen minutes. There's a couple of pubs, a shop, and a cafe that does food. For a proper beach day, the North Bay in Scarborough is about ten minutes by car. The sea front is busier but that's where the amusements and most of the restaurants are.

The cottage is right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. You can walk straight out onto quiet lanes. The Cleveland Way footpath is right there too. The Forge Valley woods are a half-mile walk away. If you want to do the steam railway, Goathland station, which was in Heartbeat, is about a 30-minute drive inland.

Whitby is half an hour up the coast. You've got Robin Hood's Bay on the way as well. Castle Howard is about forty minutes by car.

For facilities, it's got a washing machine, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a travel cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
