Meadowsweet Cottage is one of a few cottages on the same site near Scalby. Scalby is a village just outside Scarborough. It's about three miles from the town centre and the beaches.
The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern inside, comfortable and clean. The garden at the back is enclosed. There's a patio with furniture and a shared barbecue area. The front looks over fields towards the sea. You can see Scarborough Castle from here.
Scalby village is a 15 minute walk. It's got a couple of pubs, a shop and a cafe. From the cottage, you can walk straight onto quiet lanes and into the Forge Valley woods. The Cleveland Way footpath is right there too. The edge of the North York Moors is basically on the doorstep.
Scarborough is a short drive for everything else: the two bays, the Sea Life Centre, the harbour, places to eat. The North York Moors Railway is about a 30 minute drive inland at Pickering. If you head up the coast, you're in Whitby in about half an hour. Robin Hood's Bay is a bit closer. Castle Howard is also within a 30 minute drive.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
