Yerborough Cottage is one of the cottages at Scalby Lodge, near Scarborough. It's owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, which means it's well kept. It's a bungalow, so all on one level.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable. No pets, I'm afraid.
The cottage has its own garden, which is enclosed. There's parking on site. Facilities are what you'd expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. It has a woodburning stove and an electric vehicle charger.
The location is the main thing. It's on the clifftop. You can walk straight out onto the Cleveland Way coastal path. The sea views are very good. Scalby village is a short walk away. There's a local pub.
Scarborough is a couple of miles away. It's got two beaches, North Bay and South Bay, and a castle. The Open Air Theatre sometimes has big shows. It's a proper seaside town.
Within about half an hour you can drive up to Whitby. Or go inland into the North York Moors. The steam railway from Grosmont to Pickering is a nice trip.
If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: Cleveland Way National Trail, North York Moors National Park, and RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
