Mill View House
This is Mill View House. It's in Scarborough, up the coast in North Yorkshire. It's end terrace. It's about a twenty minute walk to either the South Bay or North Bay beaches.
The house sleeps eight people. There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star rating, so you can expect a clean, comfortable place, but nothing overly fancy. It's got a games room in the downstairs area with a pool table and some other games. That's good if the weather turns.
You can bring one dog with you. There's a stairgate provided, and a cot and highchair if you need them.
The location is handy. It's a quiet street but you're two minutes from the train station. The town shops, pubs and restaurants are on your doorstep. Both beaches are sandy and good for families. North Bay is quieter. South Bay is the classic seaside, with the arcades and donkey rides.
When you walk down to the South Bay, you pass Peasholm Park. It's got lovely gardens and a lake with boats. They do the model naval battle there in the summer. You can walk the promenade all the way around both bays, past the castle.
For other days out, the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is about a twenty minute drive. You can see puffins and gannets. The cliff top walks there are part of the Cleveland Way. Filey and Flamborough Head are in the same direction, within half an hour.
York is less than an hour away by train. That's an easy day trip if you've had enough of the beach.
The house facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on street, you can usually find a space nearby.
