Yard End House is one of six holiday cottages at Killerby Old Hall. We live on the site. The property sleeps twelve people, with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star self-catering place. That's our highest rating, it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The house is in a courtyard with the other cottages. You have your own patio area with garden furniture. There's parking right outside.
Inside, it's set up for groups and families. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We've put stairgates at the top and bottom. There's a dishwasher, a TV, and Wi-Fi. The garden is shared with the others in the courtyard.
The main thing here is the indoor heated swimming pool. It's for all the guests to use. You book slots. It's a good size.
Location wise, we're in Killerby. It's countryside but very close to the coast. Cayton Bay beach is under two miles away. You can walk to the village in five minutes. There are two pubs and a shop there.
Scarborough is about four miles north. It's got everything you need for shops. Filey is a similar distance south, it's a bit quieter. The North York Moors National Park starts inland. Pickering, with the steam railway, is about half an hour's drive. Dalby Forest is good for walking and cycling.
Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are a bit further, maybe forty-five minutes up the coast. York is around an hour's drive if you fancy a day trip.
The Yorkshire Coast Path goes right past nearby. Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs are a short drive south if you like coastal walks and birdwatching.
No pets, I'm afraid. The property is part of a group, so it can be booked with others if you're planning a bigger get-together.
