This is Yard End House. It's one of six cottages grouped around a courtyard at Killerby Old Hall, near Scarborough. You're about two miles from the beach at Cayton Bay.
It sleeps twelve people. There are six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable, warm, and well-equipped, but not a show home. The owners live on-site, which is handy if anything comes up.
One of the main things here is the indoor heated swimming pool. It's shared with the other cottages, so you book slots. It's a good option if the weather turns. The cottage comes with its own garden or patio area to sit out in.
The location is the main draw. You're in the countryside, but close to the coast. The village of Cayton is about a ten minute walk away. It has a couple of pubs and a shop. For a bigger shop, Scarborough is just over four miles down the road.
You can be at Filey or the North and South Bays of Scarborough in about ten minutes by car. The coastal path is right there for walking. For a day out, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are under an hour's drive north. Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway are about half an hour inland. Dalby Forest is also within a half hour drive, for walking or cycling.
As for the house itself, it has the things you'd need: a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if required. There's parking on site. No pets, I'm afraid.
