Filey Central One is our place in the middle of Filey. It's a cottage, part of a pair. It's five hundred yards from the beach, so about a five minute walk.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. We had it fully refurbished a few years back, so it's all in good order.
The main thing is the parking. You can get two cars off the road, which is rare in Filey. Once you're parked, you can walk everywhere.
There's a shop and a pub a couple of minutes away. The beach here is long and sandy, good for a proper walk. The promenade has those coloured beach huts and gardens.
If you want to explore, the Cleveland Way coastal path is right there on the cliff tops. The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors aren't far. You can drive to Flamborough Head for the cliffs and seabirds, or along the coast to places like Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. Scarborough is about fifteen minutes away by car.
Inside, there's a sitting room, a kitchen with a dining table, and a washing machine. It's all clean and works. Bedding and towels are included. We allow one well-behaved dog.
We also own the cottage next door, Filey Central Two. You can book them together if you're a larger group.
For planning days out, National Trust Yorkshire is useful.
