The Old Chapel

The Old Chapel is in Speeton, which is a small hamlet right on the coast between Filey and Flamborough. It's an old chapel that's been converted into a house. It's got a big room downstairs where the congregation would have been. The ceilings are high and there's stained glass.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It's a solid, comfortable place. The stairs are wooden and a bit open, so you might want to watch small children on them.

You're about a five-minute walk from the cliff path. The views from there are really something. You can walk to Filey or Flamborough Head along the coast. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs reserve is very close. You can see the seabirds on the cliffs from spring onwards.

Filey is about four miles south. It's a quiet sort of seaside town with a nice beach. The shop there is a Co-op. Scarborough is about fifteen minutes in the car for more things to do. Bridlington is the other way, about twenty minutes.

If you want a day out, York is just under an hour's drive. The North York Moors are about forty minutes. The walking here is very good, right from the door.

For the facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. There's a garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking is on the drive. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. The main entrance and the ground floor are accessible for wheelchairs, but the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs.
