Puffin Lodge
Puffin Lodge is in Bempton village. It's a single-storey lodge, so everything's on one level. Good if you don't want stairs.
It's just for two people. One bedroom with a super king-sized bed and an en-suite shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
You walk into an open plan room with the kitchen, sitting area, and a wood burner. There are some beams on the ceiling. It's a straightforward space.
Outside, there's a patio garden area for you. There's parking right there too.
The village shop is about 80 yards away. The local pub is a similar distance, maybe 170 yards. They serve food.
The main reason you'd stay here is for the coast. Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve is about a mile and a half away. You can walk it. It's spectacular for seeing seabirds. The RSPB site has all the details on what you might see.
Filey is five miles south. It's a traditional seaside town with a long beach and promenade. Flamborough is three miles away, with the lighthouse.
If you want to drive further, the North York Moors aren't far. Whitby and Scarborough are both within about 45 minutes. York is roughly an hour's drive inland.
Facilities-wise, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The whole place is wheelchair accessible from the entrance. No pets, sorry.
It's a quiet spot. Good for a couple wanting to be near the coast without being right in a busy town.
