Puffin Lodge

Puffin Lodge is a one-bedroom place in Bempton. It's all on one level, which is good if you don't want stairs. You walk into the main room, which has the kitchen, a dining table, and the sofa. It's open plan. There's a wood burner. The ceilings are beamed, which I think looks nice.

It sleeps two. The bedroom has a super king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. There's a flat garden area outside for you.

The village is quiet. There's a shop about 80 yards away and a pub just a bit further. The pub does food. The big thing here is the coast. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs reserve is a mile and a half away. You can see puffins and other seabirds on the cliffs. It's quite dramatic.

Filey is about five miles south. It's a classic seaside town with a long beach. Flamborough is three miles away, with the lighthouse. If you drive for about half an hour, you can get to Bridlington or Scarborough for more of that seaside stuff.

Further afield, York is an hour's drive. It's a good day out if you want history and shopping. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is about the same distance, if you like steam trains.

Inside, you've got a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. The entrance and the inside are all wheelchair accessible.

If you were coming with another couple, you could book it together with Gannet Lodge next door.
