Sunshine Retreat

Sunshine Retreat is on the Bridlington Links, between Sewerby and Flamborough. It's a new, detached lodge in a woodland area on the edge of the cliff-top golf course. It's quiet, you can see the trees from the deck.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's an en-suite with a shower. You get a king-size and a twin room. There's also a main bathroom with a bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and in good order.

The living area is all open plan. French doors lead out to an enclosed deck. The kitchen has what you need: gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine. There's a TV and the WiFi works. Parking is right outside.

You're allowed one well-behaved dog. All bedding and towels are provided.

On site, there's the golf clubhouse with a restaurant and a bar. The views from their veranda are good. Next door is Sewerby Hall. It has nice gardens, a small zoo, a cafe, and you can pick up the headland path to Flamborough or Bridlington from there.

Bridlington itself is a couple of miles south. It's a proper seaside town with promenades, shops, and places to eat. Filey is a bit further down the coast. For nature, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is about a ten minute drive north. You can see the puffins and other seabirds there.

Inland, the Yorkshire Wolds are good for walking and cycling. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are both within half an hour if you like stately homes. Hull and York are both under an hour's drive away.

Useful links for planning: RSPB Bempton Cliffs and National Trust Yorkshire.
