The Rocket
The Rocket is in Flamborough. It's a first-floor apartment in an old train station. The train line was never built, so the station was never used. It's been completely renovated now.
It sleeps four but it's one bedroom. There's a kingsize bed and two sofa beds in the living room. It's got two bathrooms, which is unusual. One is an en-suite shower room off the bedroom. The other has a bath and a separate walk-in shower. So everyone gets their own shower.
The rooms are all a step down from the hallway. The kitchen is separate from the living and dining area. It's small but it has everything you need.
There are some nice original features, like the fireplace and wooden flooring. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-finished.
Flamborough itself is good for walking. It's about twenty-five minutes on foot to the headland from the door. You get views down to the bay. The cliff top walks are the main thing here.
Bridlington is three miles away. It has a long sandy beach and a leisure centre with a pool. Scarborough is about a half hour drive. It has two beaches, the castle ruins, and the open air theatre. For a longer day out, Whitby and the North York Moors are within an hour's drive.
Locally, there's a pub within walking distance. The RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs is very close for birdwatching. There's also fishing if that's your thing.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. A cot is available. There's bicycle storage. No pets.
