Northstead Lodge is in Flamborough, on the North Yorkshire coast. It's a detached house, so no neighbours on the other side of the walls. It sleeps up to ten people, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. I'd say the 5 Star rating reflects the space and the pool more than anything fancy.
The main thing is the swimming pool. It's indoors and private, just for your group. You get to it from the kitchen and there's a shower room right there. The kitchen is big, with a large table and a breakfast bar. There's also a sun room with bi-folding doors that open onto the garden, and it has a bar area. The garden is enclosed and has a patio, a summer house, and an orchard area.
There's a bedroom on the ground floor with a super king-size bed that can be split into two singles if needed. The stairs are a standard staircase. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a walk-in dressing area and a small mezzanine seating space. Two of the other bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms.
The village centre is a short walk. There are a couple of pubs, a good butcher, a bakery, and a shop. The coast path is very close. The beach at South Landing is about a mile away. For a bigger beach, Bridlington is ten minutes down the road. The RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs is a five-minute drive. For a day out, Sewerby Hall or Burton Agnes Hall are within half an hour, and York is about an hour's drive.
Things to know: we accept up to two dogs. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking for several cars on the driveway.
