Beech Cottage
This is Beech Cottage. It's in Sewerby, just outside Bridlington. It's a detached gatehouse, part of the old Sewerby Hall estate. You can see the hall from the garden.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's an old building, so the doors are a bit low in places. Watch your head.
The main thing is you get free entry into Sewerby Hall and Gardens. They're right there. It's a big Georgian house with gardens and a zoo. The zoo has penguins and lemurs. The gardens have good views over the bay. The Sewerby Hall website has opening times.
The beach is a short walk down the cliff. You can get the land train from the hall grounds straight into Bridlington if you don't fancy the walk back up. Bridlington is a classic seaside town. Harbour, amusements, that sort of thing.
Flamborough Head is about ten minutes by car. The cliffs are good for a walk. The RSPB reserve at Bempton is fifteen minutes away. That's where you see the seabirds on the cliffs, puffins and so on. The RSPB page has details.
In the cottage, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and parking. The garden is yours. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
