Copper House

Copper House is in Buckton, just inland from Flamborough Head. It's a converted farm building, over 200 years old. German prisoners of war were billeted here during the Second World War. We live next door.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The space is open plan downstairs. The stairs are a bit steep, as you'd expect in an old place.

There's a good sized garden and a large paddock you can use. We see owls and badgers around sometimes. The kids have space to run about.

You're about two miles from the coast. The beach at Bridlington is sandy and about a ten minute drive. Scarborough is twenty minutes away if you want more shops and theatres.

The local pub is 500 yards up the road. They do food. The closest shop is about the same distance.

Bempton Cliffs RSPB sanctuary is very close, maybe a mile and a half. It's good for a walk and the seabird colonies are impressive. Further along the coast you've got Flamborough Head itself. For a longer day out, the North York Moors National Park is about a 20-mile drive. Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are both within half an hour if you like historic houses.

Facilities wise: it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. We can provide a cot. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
