Clydesdale Cottage

Clydesdale Cottage is on our farm just outside Bridlington. It's one of six cottages we made from old farm buildings. They're all named after horse breeds, hence the name.

It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not luxurious. It's a converted barn, so the ceilings are low in places and the doors are a bit lower than you might be used to. Mind your head.

You're on a working farm. There's a farm shop and café here, and a petting area for kids. There's a shared field out front for games and a play area. The car parking is right outside the cottage.

The cottage itself has a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's a stairgate at the top. No pets, I'm afraid.

For a pub or a meal out, there's one about a ten minute walk away. The farm shop sells basics.

Bridlington's about two miles off. It's a proper seaside town with two beaches and a harbour. The cliff walk from Sewerby Hall down into town is good. You can get a little land train there too. For a good beach, we usually go to Fraisthorpe, south of Bridlington, or up to Filey.

Flamborough Head is close. Bempton Cliffs is an RSPB site where you can see puffins and other seabirds on the cliffs. It's worth a trip.

There are some big houses nearby if that's your thing. Sewerby Hall is on the cliffs. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are about half an hour's drive inland.

If you want to explore, the North York Moors and the coast up to Scarborough or down to Hull are within an hour. The Yorkshire Wolds are on the doorstep for walking.
