Kingfisher Cottage

Kingfisher Cottage is in Flamborough, on the East Yorkshire coast. It's an old farm building, one of a few that were converted. You can see the fields from the front.

It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, with underfloor heating downstairs so it's never cold. The ceilings are vaulted and there are a lot of original beams and brickwork.

The garden is yours to use. There's furniture and a barbecue.

The lane is quiet and it's about a five minute walk to the local pub, which does food. The village shop is about a mile.

You're really here for the coast though. It's a ten minute walk to Flamborough Head. The cliffs are dramatic and the views are huge. You can walk along the top and then go down to South Landing, which is a sand and chalk beach. North Landing is a rocky inlet. You'll see fishing boats and the lifeboat. Keep an eye out for seals.

Bempton Cliffs, which is an RSPB reserve, is just over two miles away. That's where you go to see the puffins and other seabirds up close.

Bridlington is five miles south if you need a bigger town or want a traditional pier. Filey is eleven miles north. Sewerby Hall is nearby, they have gardens and a museum. The National Trust Yorkshire Coast page is useful for planning walks.

Inside, it’s open plan. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
