Rockville Cottage
Rockville Cottage is in Buckton, near Flamborough. It's one of five converted farm buildings here. The owners live on site in the main house. It's an old place, over 200 years old. It was used to house German prisoners of war during the Second World War.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and well kept. You can bring one dog.
There's a big grass paddock shared with the other cottages. Kids can run around. You might see owls or badgers at dusk. The owners have set out some nature walks on the land.
It's two miles to the coast. The beach at Bempton is shingle. For sandy beaches, you'd drive to Bridlington or Scarborough. Bempton Cliffs RSPB sanctuary is very close, about a mile and a half. It's good for puffins and gannets. RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
The local pub is about a ten minute walk. It serves food. There's a shop about the same distance.
Bridlington is ten minutes by car. Scarborough is about twenty minutes. If you want to go inland, the North York Moors National Park is about a half hour drive. North York Moors National Park.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a shared games room in one of the other buildings with a pool table. Parking is right outside. You can use the BBQ.
