The Gatehouse is in Sewerby, right on the edge of Bridlington Links golf course. It's a lodge, not an old cottage. You get your own patch of garden and there's parking right outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything is on one level, so it's straightforward to get around.
You're about 400 yards from a pub that does food. The closest shop is a mile away in Sewerby village.
The best bit is the location. There's a gate at the back of the estate that leads straight into the grounds of Sewerby Hall. Your stay includes one family pass for the hall and gardens. From there, you're on the coastal path. You can walk to Flamborough Head one way or into Bridlington the other.
For the beach, Bridlington has the big sandy ones. It's about a mile and a half. A land train runs from near the hall in summer. The RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is a ten minute drive. You'll see plenty of seabirds.
If you're bringing a dog, that's fine, just the one. The place is decorated for Christmas if you book over the festive period.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
