Shire Cottage is on our working farm in Marton, about a mile from Bridlington. It's one of six cottages we made from old farm buildings. They're all named after horse breeds. This one is for two people.
It's got a bedroom with a double bed, one bathroom, and an open plan living area. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not fancy. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
You're on a farm, so you'll see animals about. We have a petting area if that's of interest. There's a big shared field out front and a kids' play area.
There's a farm shop and café here on site. The pub is about a five minute walk away and does meals.
Bridlington has two big beaches and a harbour. You can walk to the coast from here, but most people drive as it's a proper mile. Sewerby Hall is very close. You can get a land train from there into Bridlington and walk back along the cliffs.
Within half an hour you can drive up the coast to Filey and Scarborough, or south to Hornsea. Flamborough Head and the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs are nearby, where you can see puffins and other seabirds. Further inland, market towns like Driffield are a short drive, and the Yorkshire Wolds are right there for walking.
For facilities: bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside and a bike store. No pets, sorry.
