Rockville Lodge is in Buckton, near the coast. It's a detached, single-storey lodge. You have your own decking area and it's quite private, but there are also shared gardens if you want to wander. It's a 5 Star place, which just means it's done to a high standard.
It sleeps three, which is a bit unusual. There are two bedrooms, both doubles, and then a day bed in the snug. So it suits a couple, or two friends, or a small family. There are two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers.
The owners have done a lot for wildlife. There's a nature reserve with a pond and bird feeders. You'll see a lot from the windows. The snug looks right out onto the feeding area. If you sit out at dusk you might see the barn owls. Best of all, the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is just over a mile away. That's where you get the puffins and all the seabirds on the cliffs.
There's a shop and a pub about 500 yards down the road. The beach at Filey is two miles. You're well placed for the coast. Flamborough Head, Bridlington, Scarborough are all within about half an hour's drive. The North York Moors are a bit further, maybe 45 minutes. York is just under an hour if you want a city day.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
If you're with a bigger group, you can book this place with some others nearby. Together they sleep up to 18.
