The Chalet

The Chalet is in Hunmanby Gap, near Filey. It's one of four places we own on this bit of coast. This one is right at the bottom of the cliff, basically on the beach. You can see the sea from the main room.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a double, the other has bunk beds. There's one shower room. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. Because it's a bungalow, everything's on one level, which is handy.

The living area is open plan. The kitchen is a galley style, so it's compact. There's an electric stove that looks like a wood burner for when it's chilly. The patio outside is enclosed, with a table and chairs. You're so close to the beach you can hear the sea.

There's a café a few steps away. They do good coffee and cakes. For a shop, you'd drive into Filey or up to the village.

Filey is a few minutes drive up the coast. It's a proper old-fashioned seaside town with a long beach and a promenade. Scarborough is about fifteen minutes the other way. It's bigger, with more going on.

If you like walking, the Cleveland Way path runs along the clifftop above you. For birdwatching, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is very close. You can see the puffins in spring. The Yorkshire Wolds are inland if you fancy a change from the coast.

The facilities are what you'd expect. TV, parking, bedding and towels are included. It's a detached place, so no shared walls. You can bring two dogs.
