Poppywinkle is in Filey, just off a quiet side street. It's a regular house, not a cottage. You're about three minutes' walk from the beach.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-fitted and comfortable. The stairs are fine. There is a WC under the stairs, which is useful.
The living area is open plan. The kitchen has what you need, including a Nespresso machine, but you'll need to bring your own pods. There's a breakfast bar with stools. The back door opens to a small patio with seating.
Glen Gardens are right opposite. There's a cafe there, nice gardens for a stroll, and a pitch and putt course. It's a good spot for kids. The main beach is a short walk down from there.
Filey itself is a traditional seaside town. There's a long promenade, plenty of cafes and pubs, and amusements. The beach is five miles long, good for walking. At low tide there are rock pools to look in. The Filey Bird Garden is nearby if that's your thing.
For a good walk, you can follow the coast path to Flamborough Head. It's about a 30 minute drive. The North York Moors National Park is inland, maybe 40 minutes by car. York and Whitby are both within an hour's drive if you fancy a day trip.
Practical stuff: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. The entrance is step-free. No pets, sorry.
