This is number 4, Eldin Hall Cottages. It's in Scarborough, up in North Yorkshire. It’s one of four cottages, part of an old Victorian waterworks that’s been done up. They’re in a quiet spot, set back from the road.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that’s handy. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s clean and comfortable but not luxurious. You’ve got your own enclosed decked patio out the back, with a table and chairs. There’s also a shared garden with a play area for kids.
We live about ten minutes away, so we’ll usually be there to meet you and give you the key. We’re on hand if you need anything while you’re staying.
Cayton Bay beach is less than a mile away. It’s a good sandy beach, not usually too crowded. Scarborough itself is just a little further up the coast, maybe a five minute drive. You’ve got all the usual seaside stuff there. There’s a shop and a pub about half a mile walk from the cottage.
If you like walking, the Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs here. The views are brilliant. For bird watching, the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs isn’t far. You can see puffins and gannets there in season.
You can drive up to the North York Moors in about half an hour. Filey and Bridlington are along the coast. York is under an hour away by car, or you can get the train from Scarborough station.
In terms of what’s here, it’s got the basics covered. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. We’ve got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
